Maisie Palmer Thompson of Grayson, formerly of Stone Mountain, passed away at the age of 84, on June 2, 2007. Born in Reading, England, she came to the U.S. as a World War II bride in 1946. Maisie was an avid bowler and sports fan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Charles Robert Thompson. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Sheila Thompson of McDonough; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Herman Smith of Snellville and Laura and Howard Vosburgh of Monroe; grandchildren, Renee and Hugh Bowie of Snellville, Michael and Melanie Wing of Powder Springs, Carrie and Michael Robbins of Duluth, Jacob, Nathan and Sarah Thompson of McDonough; Katie, Megan, and Rachel Vosburgh of Monroe; great grandchildren, Phoebe and Glen Saylors of N.C., Maddy Johnson of Snellville, Charlie, Henry and James Wing of Powder Springs, Molly Robbins of Duluth; sisters-in-law, Caroline (Tat) Dabney of Clarksville, TN and Lily Palmer of Carlisle, England. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 5 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of A. T. Turner & Sons. Rev. Parker Benson will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Leukemia Society.
