Mamie Van Horn Hunter

August 15, 1918 — March 21, 2008

Mrs. Mamie Jo Hunter, 89, of Atlanta, died Friday, March 21, 2008.She was a devout Christian and knew the Bible in all facets. Mrs. Hunter worked at spreading God's word, teaching several students all she knew. She was known to many as the Gospel Carrier. She assisted those in need by providing their basic necessities. Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Jobe Hunter. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and Juan Codias; granddaughter, Miss Jo Anna Codias, all of Atlanta; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 24th in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Rev. Dennis Arnold officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
