January 27, 1928 – April 7th, 2025
Sue Mosier, age 97, of Mansfield, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 7th, 2025. Born on January 27, 1928, in Cartwright, Tennessee, Sue was the beloved daughter of Marion Webster Tate and Laura May Tate.
Sue was a woman of immense creativity and talent. She had a true gift for the arts, with a passion for painting, sewing, quilting, crochet, and embroidery. She lovingly crafted beautiful quilts for her family and crocheted newborn hats, booties, and blanket outfits for church donations—each piece stitched with warmth and care. A former member of a square-dancing club, Sue proudly made all of her own dresses, blending her love of design with the joy of dance.
An avid gardener, Sue took great pride in her yards. Wherever she lived, her gardens flourished—so much so that her homes were frequently recognized with "Yard of the Month" honors. Her green thumb and eye for beauty left a lasting impression on every place she called home.
In her later years, Sue enjoyed life in her assisted living community, where she found joy in the simple things—her Bible, games of bingo, regular manicures and hair appointments, word searches, and outings to local restaurants.
Sue was preceded in death by her loving husband, Oral Ernest Mosier Sr., her parents Marion Webster and Laura May Tate, and her ten siblings. She is survived by her two sons, Oral Ernest Mosier Jr. (Peggy Scriver-Mosier) and Tony Mosier (Rhonda Hogan-Mosier); four grandchildren—Shannon (Kris) Clyburn, Heather (Ben) Hoskins, Niki Mosier, and T.J. Mosier; and two cherished great-granddaughters, Olivia and Abby Clyburn.
Sue will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her artistic soul, and the love she gave so generously to her family, friends, and community. Her legacy lives on in every stitch of her quilts, in each bloom of her gardens, and in the hearts of those who loved her.
