Manuel D. Rodriguez, known affectionately by friends and family as "Manolo," passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023, in Norcross, GA, after a brave battle with dementia and prostate cancer. Born on October 9, 1936, in Ciego De Avila, Manolo's life was characterized by his love for family, his dedication to education, and his passion for the simple pleasures of life.

Manolo was a cherished husband to Juana Rodriguez, a devoted father to Maria Padilla and Evelyn Selem, and a beloved grandfather. His family was the center of his universe, and he treasured every moment spent with them. From teaching his grandkids how to cast a line on their beach trips, to the boisterous nights of dominoes with family and friends, Manolo's love for his family was evident in all that he did.

His early life in Ciego De Avila instilled in him a love for learning and a passion for education. Manolo studied Business and Calligraphy, a testament to his diverse interests and lifelong yearning for knowledge. He channeled this passion into a career in education, teaching primary and secondary school in Cuba. His dedication to education and his love for his students left an indelible mark on the lives of those he taught.

After moving to the United States, Manolo found a new career path as a plumber. His strong work ethic and dedication to his craft earned him respect and admiration from his colleagues and customers alike.

Despite the change in his professional path, Manolo's love for education never waned. He continued to instill this love in his children and grandchildren, often emphasizing the importance of learning and personal growth.

Manolo had a profound love for the outdoors. He loved fishing with his grandkids and spending time at the beach. His laughter and joy were infectious, and his family will always cherish memories of these treasured moments. When he wasn't basking in the sun or casting a line, Manolo could be found playing dominoes with family and friends.
