Manuel J. Ramirez, of Tucker, died Monday, July 28, 2008. He was born November 30, 1931 in Managua, Nicaragua. A graduate of LSU and TulaneUniversity, he was a microbiologist at GeorgiaBaptistHospital, EmoryUniversity and the CDC until his retirement. He was an active member of IHM Catholic Church and volunteered tirelessly with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Erlinda Leets; his three children: daughter, Carla Miller and husband Gary of Charlotte, NC; son, Manuel, Jr. of Chattanooga, TN and daughter, Claudia Iorio and husband Dan of Chattanooga, TN; four grandchildren, Kailey, Conner and Holland Miller and Jack Iorio; and his beloved dog, Tippi. His love of family, music, animals, laughter and life will be remembered and live on forever. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 1 at 9:30 A.M. at IHM Catholic Church with burial immediately following at FloralHillsMemoryGardens. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Thursday at A. S.
