Marcelyn Florence Land

Marcelyn Florence Land, 76, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2023, at her home in Dekalb County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her dedicated and loving parents, Ethel and Max Land. Marcelyn was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Decatur.

Marcelyn graduated from Druid Hills High School and then graduated from Brenau College, where she was an active member of the Phi Mu Sorority. Marcelyn began her career as a reservationist at Delta Airlines and retired after 32 years of service. Her career at Delta offered her the opportunity to travel the world with friends and family and pursue her love of shopping.

Marcelyn's sense of humor was infectious. She had an ability to turn ordinary moments into amusing ones with her quick-wit and clever storytelling. Leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure, Marcelyn will be dearly missed by her family, friends and wonderful caregivers.

A graveside service celebrating Marceyln's life will be held at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, at noon on Saturday, September 16. There will be a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
