Margaret Agnes Kline

Margaret McWilliams Kline, 85, entered into life eternal on Friday November 2, 2012. Born December 7, 1926, in St. Albans, Vermont, the daughter of Pearl Ann Grant McWilliams of French River, Nova Scotia, and Ralph Caldwell McWilliams of Elysburg, Pennsylvania, she attended Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans and Vermont Junior College in Montpelier before enrolling in the nursing school at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. There she met Duane Walter Kline of Wausau, Wisconsin, whom she married on November 20, 1949. They honeymooned at the polio rehabilitation facility in Warm Springs, Georgia, and eventually settled in Atlanta. She received a Masters in Nursing from Emory University in 1963, and embarked upon a career in public health with Fulton and DeKalb Counties and the State of Georgia, traveling widely in the state, coordinating continuing education for public health nurses. Throughout her years in the South, she maintained strong ties to Vermont, returning regularly (in warm weather) to visit the family homestead. Her daily telephone conversations with her sister kept her up to date on family activities and the latest local news. She was an active gardener, talented needleworker, an avid member of the Miniature Society and of the Clan Grant Society, and a parishioner of St. Stephen's Anglican Catholic Church in Athens, Georgia. She is survived by: her daughter Elizabeth Kline Dorminey and son-in-law Blair Dorminey of Athens, Georgia; grandson Sterling Beaumont Grant Gresham Dorminey of Seattle, Washington; sister Anna McWilliams Neville of St. Albans, Vermont; niece Jennifer Neville Bright; great-niece Caroline Bright; and two great-nephews, William and Ian Bright, all residents of Franklin County, Vermont; and a host of devoted friends. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons in Decatur at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
