Margaret Dee Bentley Coleman, 66, of Decatur, GA passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, from complications related to pancreatic cancer. Visitation will be held at A.S. Turner & Sons this evening (Thursday) from 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held at Briarcliff Baptist Church on Friday, August 30th at 11:00 AM with Rev. Marc Burcham of the church officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs. Dee was born in Atlanta, GA on December 5, 1946. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1964 and continued on to receive a bachelor's degree from Georgia State College in 1968. Following this, Dee briefly taught Georgia History at Towers High School in Decatur. Dee married Charles Ronald Coleman in 1966, and they were happily married 35 years. Shortly thereafter, she became a member of Briarcliff Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School while her children were young, and remained a member to the present. Dee enjoyed raising her sons, hosting and attending family functions, and caring for her family. Dee was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Ronald Coleman, in 2001 and by her father Homer Luther Bentley, Jr., in 1958. Dee is survived by her sons, Charles Ronald Coleman, Jr and Alexander Edward Coleman; her mother, Betty Glenn Donaldson Bentley; her brothers, Homer Bentley III and Donnie Bentley; sister, Susie Foreman; and many other relatives. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Briarcliff Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA. Dee's family wishes to thank all those who took such good care of her during her long illness. A. S.
