Margaret Estella Price Lane passed away peacefully at her home on September 9, 2017 at the age of 100 years and 8 months. She was a native Atlantan, born January 30, 1917. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Dan Lane. Margaret's love and care for her family is how she will be most remembered. She will be missed by her survivors, including her son, Jack Daniel Lane, Jr. and daughter, Janette Margaret Lane Gilliam; her 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and 6 nieces and nephews.
Margaret was also passionate about her beloved hobbies of gardening, sewing, reading, and serving in the hand bell choir at her church. She was a member of the Georgia Iris Society, Pendley Hills Garden Club and Atlanta Tulip Society. Her flowers won many awards throughout the years. Her love of sewing and reading have been passed down through the family as many quilts, blankets, and handmade garments have been made and many books from her collection voraciously absorbed by her children, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren. Margaret spent many years serving as the personal assistant for the manager of the City of Atlanta Water Works.
