Margaret "Evelyn" Whitefield, 93, of Lilburn, Georgia died Sunday. Born in Washington DC, she moved to Atlanta as a young girl where she worked at Southern Railway. She met her husband, Earl and married in 1943. She was a devoted housewife and loving mother raising her 3 boys. Evelyn loved and enjoyed an active social life of friends, usually around bridge parties and later in life her and Earl retired and settled in Lilburn. Her husband, Earl and brothers John & Donald Redmond have passed on. She is survived by by her sons, Phil, his wife Nina, Dennis, his wife Betsy and Daniel and his wife Seonaid. As well as her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Madeline, Matthew and Katlyn. She had a wonderfully, generous spirit and warm, loving heart. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons with Dr. Frank Crumpler officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from Noon to 1:00 pm Wednesday prior to the service. A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory.
