Mrs. Margaret Louise “Maggie” Jones, age 62, died Friday, January 23 of complications from heart surgery at Emory University Hospital. She was born in Chillicothe, Ohio October 18, 1946 to Bernard Franklin Hyer and Laura Winona Hyer (Zigler). She is survived by her husband Edward Lee Jones; son Timothy Edward Jones (wife Julie and grandchildren Beatrix and Alice); son Michael Lee Jones (wife Sharon and grandchildren Megan and Nicholas); sister Ruth Ann (Ron) Yahne; niece Kimberly (orphaned by brother Donald and raised by Maggie and Edward); and many nieces and nephews, cousins, step brothers and step sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Donald Franklin Hyer and John Russell Hyer. Maggie was an entrepreneur who owned and operated several retail stores (The Tower Shop and Maggie and Friends) in Ohio and Georgia over the last 30 years of her life. A true artist, she enjoyed painting, floral design, wood carving as well as reading and music. Always active in her church and community, her honest work ethic, generous nature and giving spirit were an inspiration to all. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, January 27, at 11am at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 5801 Hugh Howell Rd, Stone Mountain, GA, with a reception to follow.
