Margaret Lowe Kirkland

An excellent student, Jean graduated valedictorian of the Morgan County High School Class of 1954. Following graduation from the University of Georgia, she began a decade long career as a high school math teacher with the Atlanta School System that included stints at West Fulton High and Dykes High. Following her teaching career, Jean focused her time and energy on her family and community. A beloved and dedicated volunteer, she devoted many hours to Oak Grove Elementary, Lakeside High, and Oak Grove UMC. Above all, she was a fixture at and supporter of any and all activities that involved her children. Once her children were out of the home, she spent several enjoyable years working at ABS Artistic Jewelry, Inc. Jean was an expert in cross-stitching and loved reading and Sudoku.
