Margaret Maidell Stocks

Margaret K. "Meg" Stocks, 94, of Avondale Estates, GA, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Avondale Estates and was a loyal member of the choir. She retired after more than 40 years of service at Rich's Department Store. Meg was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Siras Andrew "Si" Stocks, and is survived by sons, Dr. S. Allan Stocks and wife Gloria of Augusta and Phillip M. Stocks and wife Wilma of Hartwell; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 3rd, at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Avondale Estates, with Dr. J. Truett Gannon and Rev. Dennis Lewallen officiating. Burial will follow at Chestnut Grove Church Cemetery in Grayson, GA. Those desiring may make contributions to the First Baptist Church of Avondale Estates Music Program, 47 Covington Rd, Avondale Estates, GA 30002. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM on Wednesday, July 2nd, at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home.
