Margaret Meyer Green

Mrs. Margaret Meyer Green of Tucker, GA died February 15, 2012. She was born in Oglethorpe County, GA, August 26, 1928, daughter of the late James Franklin Meyer and Hattie Mae Carter Meyer. Prior to retirement she worked 18 years for the Steve Alexander Insurance Agency in Atlanta. She was married to Archie Green, August 20, 1966 and they moved to Rome, GA in 1999. He preceded her in death, March 1, 2001. She was also preceded by a step-son, Dr. Larry A.Green of Mt. Berry, GA, May 29, 1995. Mrs. Green was a member of Decatur First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a very caring daughter-in-law, Melanie Green Jones (Bobby) of Tucker, GA, 2 Grandchildren, Gayla and Gary Green, 5 Great-grandchildren, and a nephew Harold Westbrook of Gainesville, GA. Her brother and sisters preceded her in death, also. Memorial services will be held at A.S. Turner & Sons Chapel 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18th. Rev. James Sanders, Rev. Diana and Jim Roberts, and Rev. Ellynda Lipsey will be officiating. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. and following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Larry Green Scholarship Fund at Berry College, Mt. Berry, GA 30149 or to the church of their choice.
