Margie Rudasill Britt

Margie Rudasill Britt, 86, of Stone Mountain, died September 22, 2012. A native of Columbus, Georgia, she was a graduate of Jordan High School in Columbus. After moving to Atlanta in the late 1950's, Mrs. Britt and her family became active at Atlanta First United Methodist Church. She was a member there, and its MACO Sunday school class, for over 50 years. While her children attended school, Mrs. Britt devoted enormous time to their education, schools and its PTA. That love grew into her becoming a secretary for the PTA Headquarters in Atlanta, where she was employed for over 52 years, working well into her 70's. She was preceded in death by her husband, Army Colonel Frank A. Britt, and is survived by her daughters, Melanie B. Smith of Sugar Hill, Stephanie B. Owen of Jackson and Valerie B. McClendon of Buford; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The funeral service for Margie R. Britt will be held 1 PM, Tuesday, September 25, in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-7 Monday evening at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
