Mrs. Marian M Griffin of Stone Mountain died Monday, August 24, 2009. She played semipro basketball for the Atlanta Tomboys in the late 1960’s. Mrs. Griffin owned and operated Interior Design Works, a successful interior design company. She was a member of the Stone Mountain United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, T. L. Griffin, Jr. Mrs. Griffin is survived by her mother, Marian Mayfield McGlaun of Stone Mountain; sister, Cathy Hayes Mendoza of Woodstock; brothers, George R. McGlaun, Jr. of Stone Mountain, Stanwix W. McGlaun of Buena Vista, Charles H. McGlaun of Cusseta; step daughters, Deborah G. Thompson of Lawrenceville, Carolyn Jean Griffin of Stone Mountain, grandchildren, Joseph Levy Thompson of Lawrenceville, Margaret Thompson Brunen of Lawrenceville; great grandchildren, Ford Levy Thompson, Finlee Grace Thompson and Willa Kate Brunen; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2009, Rev. Joy Brown officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Turner & Sons.
