Mariana Costa Atkins

Mariana Costa Atkins, of Decatur, Georgia died on Saturday, March 29, 2008.  In death she joins her loving husband of 62 years, Dr.  Earnest Calvin Atkins, who passed on merely one week ago.  She loved and cared for her family of five children and five grandchildren with all of her heart. Her giving spirit was evidenced by performing as a singer and dancer in numerous productions staged to raise money for the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. She is survived by sons, Charles, Gary and David; and daughter Cathy; and grandchildren Daniel, Mariana, John, Josh and Rebekah.  She was preceded in death by her son Bob.  A memorial service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Messiah, 465 Clairmont Ave., Decatur, on Monday, March 31 at 1:00 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or their local chapter.
