Marie Mize Orvold

Marie Mize Orvold, age 100 years and 4 months, citizen of the world, passed Sunday, December 4, 2016. She dedicated her professional career to teaching special needs children throughout DeKalb County. Survivors include her four children: Ted Orvold, Christine Young, Donna Shelley and Connie Statham, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Col. Arthur T. Orvold, retired Air Force pilot. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 5th at noon at A. S. Turner and Sons Chapel. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to her passion while she was teaching, The Center for the Visually Impaired, 739 West Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA 30308. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home.
