Marion Brown Hodges

January 20, 1925 — July 31, 2012

Marion Brown Hodges, 87, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. She was born in Atlanta to W. Fred Brown and Pauline Vinson. She retired from the City of Atlanta as a secretary for the City Clerk. Marion is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, George Taylor Hodges Jr. and her daughter Marion Ann Fields. She's survived by her son and his wife George R. Hodges (Nancy); grandson: Matthew Taylor Hodges; granddaughters: Elizabeth Ann Hodges, and Ann Marie Hodges Fields. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday August 4 in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons with Dr. Alan D. Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Decatur Heights Baptist Church, 735 Sycamore Dr. Decatur, GA. The family will receive friends on Friday August 3 from 5:00-8:00 PM at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
