Marion Alden Morrison “Buster”, 89, of Atlanta, GA, passed peacefully on January 7, 2021. Marion was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Jane Vickery Morrison; his son, Robert Alden Morrison; his parents M.A. and Mamie Morrison; and brother, Motte Jon Morrison. Marion graduated from UGA with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, and then went on to receive a degree in Architecture from GA Tech. While a student of UGA, he became a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Marion proudly served his country with the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. During his military service, he married his college sweetheart, Jane, March 19, 1955. Together they had two children, and he started his own company, Morrison Builders. His hobbies were hard work and his family. He even coached Alden’s little league baseball and football teams. He was also an active member of Holy Trinity Parish Episcopal Church. A visitation open to the public will be held Sunday, January 10, at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, GA, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The graveside services will be private. Marion is survived by his daughter, Lucy Forsyth (Mickey); grandchildren: Brittany Jane Forsyth and Dallis Randall Forsyth; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Payne Morrison (the late Alden Morrison); sister-in-law, Judy Wyndham (Byron); and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at www.choa.org.
