Marion Carl Clement, age 79, of Decatur, Georgia passed away April 27, 2014 after struggling with Congestive Heart Failure and COPD and Diabetes for many years. Marion Clement was born on June 8, 1934 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Carl Marion Clement and Lois Lena Cornett Clement. He was preceded in death by his son Timothy Andrew Clement. Marion retired from Aloon Cable Company where he worked as a lab technician. After retirement he managed a Mr. Pride Car Wash for a decade. Marion served in the U. S. Navy for six years where he served in San Diego, Long Beach and San Francisco, California. Marion was stationed on three different Navy destroyers (sometimes referred to as "tin cans");; cruising the Pacific and visiting many for eastern countries. Survived by his son James Michael Clement;, brothers, John Edward Clement, William Eugene Clement and Donald Lee Clement; sisters-in-law, Joyce Clement, Linda Clement and Debbie Clement; grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at A. S. Turner & Sons, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur GA 30033. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery, 2025 Mount Carmel Church Lane, Canton, GA 30114, 770-479-9300 after a graveside service and 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 30, 2014.Pastor Kenny Snow will be officiating at the graveside. The family would like to give a special thank-you to Veterans Administration Hospital and Sacred Journey Hospice for their excellent care of Marion.
