Marion Taylor Heeke

Marion T. Skip Heeke, 80, of Stone Mountain went to the Lord and joined his beloved wife, Janice, on Wednesday October 8, 2014. After graduating Georgia Tech, he served 20 years as an officer in the U.S. Army. This included tours in Germany, Korea, Turkey, and Vietnam, as well as tours in multiple states. Skip was a devoted Sunday school and Bible study teacher throughout his adult life, the last 25 years of which were at St. Timothy UMC. He was a boy scout and dedicated scoutmaster, an avid train hobbyist, coin and stamp collector, and astronomer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion J. Heeke and Kathryn N. Heeke, his wife, Janice H. Heeke, and his son, Clay Heeke. He is survived by his son, Lance Heeke and wife, Sheila; daughter, Claire Cleveland and husband, Bill; daughter, Alison Peters and husband, Pete, six grandchildren and many close church friends. Funeral services will be held at St. Timothy UMC on Memorial Dr. in Stone Mountain on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 1pm with Rev. Elynda Lipsey officiating. Burial will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm at the church. A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory
