Marley Natasha Duncan, devoted mother, beloved daughter and sister, sassy yet endlessly devoted friend, passed away on June 18, 2015 in Snellville, GA at the age of 21.
Marley was born on June 15, 1994 in Decatur, GA to Nicole Roberts and Gregory Duncan. She spent equal parts of her childhood fighting with and perpetually bonded together with her adoring older sister, Monique Whitney Duncan. Her kindred spirit as well as birthday week was something that her older Brother Anthony and she shared her entire life.
Often thought of as the quiet and kind, Marley is best remembered by those closest to her for her strength, fierce independence, ceaseless positivity and skill with radiating positivity and bringing laughter and love to those around her. Equal parts prankster and caretaker, her loyalty to her friends was unshakeable and unforgettable. Her intelligence was undeniable in school, with one her accomplishments being a dean student. Her love and gift for healing led to her path to becoming a neonatal nurse one day.
Her greatest accomplishment is her son Bryce. Marley went beyond the statistics and proved every odd wrong in mothering her son. She worked hard and made every sacrifice necessary to make sure Bryce is a healthy, smart, and well-rounded individual. She succeed in every way imaginable, and we all will continue to try and do as well as did.
Marley leaves behind her son Bryce Carter Duncan, her parents Nicole Roberts and Gregory Duncan, siblings Anthony Rocke, Ashante Duncan, who preceded her in passing, and Monique Duncan. She is also leaving behind grandfather Albert Muckley, step-grandmother Faye Muckley, and countless family and friends.; great aunt, Agatha Boothman; three uncles, Leon Duncan, Roger Trusty and Wendell Chase; four aunts, Debbie Duncan, Elizabeth Mitchell, Althea Otuata, and Cheryl Jeremiah-Neal; nephew, Dylan Bazemore; a niece, Amya Rocke; and numerous other family and friends.
Marley's compassion, positivity and devotion will always be a few of many memories we will keep of her. Although we will never truly understand why such a remarkable spirit has left this earth so soon, we can give thanks for having had the opportunity to experience the time we were blessed with. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made to Bryce Duncan's college fund at http://www.gofundme.com/InMarleysMemory.
