Marshall B. Anderson, 77, of Newnan, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at his home, Marshall was born in Clarkston, Georgia, in Dekalb County on February 24, 1932 to Lois and Dennie Anderson.  Marshall was a graduate of Clarkston High School.  After graduation, he served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  After his military service, he was employed by Southern Bell where he retired after 39 years of service.  He served as an ordained deacon at the Ingleside Presbyterian Church in Scottsdale, Georgia.  His passion was the time he would spend with his family and friends at his primary home and his second home on Lake HartwellMarshall was preceded in death by his son, Dennie Mack Anderson and his brother, William Anderson.  He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce Holcombe Anderson, his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Tim Anderson and Julie Anderson, and their children, Rae Anne, Analiese and Brialyn.  He also is survived by grandchildren, Ryan Anderson, Brittany Anderson Sorrell, and Bailey Anderson; great-grandchildren Brody Sorrell and Cheyenne Anderson; brother Joe Frank Anderson and his wife Barbara Shubert Anderson; sister-in-law Betty Anderson; one niece and several nephews and cousins. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, Georgia and interment will follow at the Historic Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain, Georgia.  Reverend Kennedy Smartt will officiate.  The family has requested that in lieu of flowers please make donations in memory of Marshall Anderson to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF).  Donations may be made on line at www.jdrfgeorgia.org  or donations may be mailed to the following address:  JDRF, Georgia Chapter, 3525 Piedmont Road NE, Building 6,  Suite 300, Atlanta, Georgia 30305. The family will receive family and friends Monday, February 1 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, February 2 at 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral.
