ALEXANDER, MARTHA HUGHES

Martha Hughes Alexander, age 72 of Lilburn, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2014, after a long illness. She was preceded in her death by her parents Mary Whitman and William Hughes, her brother Mascus Hughes, and her husband of 40 years Jimmy Alexander. She is survived by sisters Frances Wilson, Bessie Helms, Melonae Willis, and Rebecca Willoughby and by 14 nieces and nephews, 1 great niece and 1 great great niece. Known affectionately as Moxie in her youth and as Aunt Moxie by nieces and nephews, she was also known as Marti to fellow employees at the Coca-Cola Company where she worked for many years prior to retiring and also to friends, family and others in the Greek Orthodox community. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Tuesday, November 4, 2014 followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at A.S. Turner and Sons 2773 N. Decatur Rd., Decatur, GA 30033. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at The Greek Orthodox Cathedral 2500 Clairmont Road, Atlanta, GA 30329. Interment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
