A Life Remembered
Not so long ago, a member of our family left a temporary home for a permanent one. The difference in our lives will be felt from this moment onward and will be at its most noticeable in those times when we expect her to be among us, but then remember that this is no longer possible. It is in these moments that we will most understand precisely how much she meant to each of us. All of this we know to be true. There are things beyond this that we also know to be true and it is among these things we will find our needed peace.
We know that a body destroyed by disease is now renewed and untouchable by the hand of illness. We know that a heart no longer able to beat as needed for this life is strong once more and fit for life eternal. We know that the one who has left us is now among others we have loved and lost. We know that one who prioritized the things of God is now with Him. We know that one of God's children is now near her Father.
We will find our greatest reassurance in this. We will see each other again. One day there will be a never ending reunion in an eternity devoid of pain and loss.
There will come a day when we will all gather in our Father's house. Until then, we will notice the presence now missing from our lives and reflect on times spent with her. In the memories of the family she has now left behind, she continues to live.
Until we all meet again in Heaven, this will be a life remembered.
