Martha England Gunn

Martha England Gunn, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William G. England and widow of Leonard H. Gunn died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the grand age of 95. She and Mr. Gunn were happily married for 67 years. Mrs. Gunn was a graduate of Atlanta Girl's High School and Agnes Scott College. She was a devout Christian and long-time member of Clairmont Hills Baptist Church. Mrs. Gunn was a loyal and faithful friend to the many people she came to know over the years through church, social and civic activities and was loved by all who knew her. She was a devoted and beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She will be dearly missed by her family and by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Gunn is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. David E. Pauls; her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William L. Gunn; her sister, Mrs. Gayle Kennedy; four grandchildren and their spouses: Mr. and Mrs. William D. Pauls, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar L. Pauls, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Gunn, and Mr. and Mrs. Matthew T. Henely; eight great-grandchildren: Annie, Sarah Hayden and Catherine Gunn; Haley, Lindsay, Seth and Kylie Jane Pauls and Will Henely; and nine nieces and nephews. Services will be held at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, Georgia on Wednesday, July 9th at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Larry Burgess officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Interment will be in Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those preferring may send donations in her memory to Hospice Atlanta, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or to their favorite charity.
