Martha Lois Robertson, age 93, died in the comfort of her own home on November 7, 2018. Martha, born at Crawford Long Hospital in 1925 as Martha Lois Gardner. She was a lifelong resident of Atlanta. She attended Girls High School and graduated with the class of 1943. She married the love of her life, Douglas Robertson, in 1949 and started her job as Mother and Homemaker with the birth of the first of three kids in 1951. Over the course of the next 30 years, Martha was a “busy Mom” with activities including PTA and Girl Scout Leadership roles. In 1965, Doug and Martha built their dream home and moved to Tucker, GA. Martha was a founding member of St Andrews Presbyterian Church where she was active in the Women’s Circle and the Fidelis Sunday School Class she attended, with Doug, until his death in 2010. An avid gardener, Martha enjoyed her large yard and vegetable garden. She had a yard full of azaleas, camellias and various other plants and flowers that she grew from seedlings. On warm summer days she could always be found, outside, working in her flowerbeds. Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Douglas W Robertson, Her brother, Robert J Gardner Jr, her sister, Eleanor Whitton and her son, Charles Julian Robertson. She is survived by her son, Don Robertson, daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Mark McDermott and her “sister”- in-law and her husband, Helen and Cecil Altman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Georgia, Colorado and Wyoming. A special thank you goes out to Jessica Kirkland and Janice Gibson for the loving care they provided to Martha during the last months of her life.
