Mrs. Martha Evans Wilson, of Decatur, died on Thursday, January 21, 2010. Born April 14, 1922 in Norcross, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jessie Bolton Pickens. She was a long-time member of Scott Boulevard Baptist Church, where she served as a deacon. She retired from Atlantic Steel at the age of 72. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Osborne Evans, Jr. in 1952. Surviving are her husband James Lamar Wilson, Jr.; children, Melvin Joseph Evans of Stone Mountain, Phillip Drew Evans of Columbia, SC, Donna Evans Dangar of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Jessie Dangar Eubanks, Jennifer Leigh Dangar; great grandchildren, Christine Amanda Eubanks, Sydney Grace Eubanks. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 25th in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Interment Historic Decatur City Cemetery. Mrs. Wilson had been suffering with failing health and she will always be forever loved and cherished by her family. For those who prefer contributions may be made to Scott Boulevard Baptist Church, 2532 North Decatur Rd., Decatur, GA 30033. Friends are invited to visit with the family Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. and Monday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at A. S. Turner & Sons.
