LENNARD, Martha Martha S. Lennard, age 94, of Atlanta, GA, died Wednesday, January 6, 2010 in the Geisinger Medical Center South Hospice Community Care Unit, Wilkes-Bare, PA. She was born in Newnan, GA, the daughter of the late James H. and Katie Duncan Self. Martha resided at the Village at Greenbriar, Dallas, PA for the past year; prior to that, she and her husband, Howard, lived in Atlanta, GA since 1944. She taught pre-kindergarten at the Arlyn-Worth School for many years, maintaining lifelong friendships with many of her students. She was a member of Druid Hills Baptist Church, Atlanta, GA; and centered her life around its activities and ministries. She was active in the Ceramics Club, WMU, Sunday School, Social Committees and is especially remembered for her dedication to the Flower Ministry. Her love of gardening and flowers inspired her daughter, Beverly Turner, to create Perennial Point Gardens Center in Plains, PA. Martha really loved the Dahlias and the employees at Perennial Point Garden Center. She delighted in the fall season and then the winter snow. She was devoted to her four grandchildren and provided many travel and educational opportunities for them, for which they are forever grateful. Her two great grandchildren were a source of great pride and happiness. Surviving are her daughter, Beverly Turner and her husband, Neil, of Dallas, PA; grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer Waldo and her husband, David, Olivebridge, NY; Thomas Jason Turner and Bega Metzner, Moab, UT; Amanda Turner, Moab, UT; Jesse Howard Turner, Philadelphia, PA; great grandchildren, Silver Turner, Moab, UT and Cimarron Jane Waldo, Olivebridge, NY. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 14th at 2:00 PM in Druid Hills Baptist Church, Ponce de Leon Ave., Atlanta, GA. Interment will be made in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Tucker, GA. Friends may call at the church parlor from 1:00 PM until tome of services. A. S. Turner & Sons.
