Mrs. Martha Webb Johnson, age 86, of Smyrna, GA, died July 29, 2010. Mrs. Johnson originally from Lithonia, GA, retired from the CDC after thirty-plus years of service and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Smyrna, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Johnson, with whom she spent 53 years of marriage. She is survived by her son Tommy Johnson, daughter-in-law Margaret Johnson, son Robert Siler, daughter-in-law Kay Siler, and grandchildren Jeffrey Siler, Andy Johnson, Matthew Siler, and Annie Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was an avid reader and could often be found in possession of her next read. She remained active into her latter years, entertaining family and friends alongside the tennis court at “Blue Haven”, the mountain home nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains that she shared with her husband. The family will receive friends at A. S. Turner & Sons, Decatur, GA from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, July 30, 2010. The service will be in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place. Memphis, TN 38105.
