Marvene (Marty) Purviance

Mrs. Marvene (Marty) Purviance of Decatur died Thursday, March 13, 2008.  She was born January 29, 1914 in Stoutsville, Ohio.  She married Harold F. Purviance in 1935.  Mrs. Purviance moved to Georgia in 1981 from Florida. She was a member of Decatur First United Methodist Church, the Fellowship Sunday School class and the United Methodist Women and Methodist Children's Home Auxiliary.  Mrs. Purviance did volunteer work, enjoyed crafts, cards and reading.  She worked as a secretary for 30 years.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Carol Purviance of Dacula; grandson, Scott Purviance and his wife Courtney, and their children, Jack and Kate of Charlotte, NC; and granddaughter, Susie Cranford and her husband Jason of London, England.  Memorial services will be held at the chapel of the Decatur First United Methodist Church 10:00 A. M. Saturday, March 15, 2008 with Rev. Frank Brock officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Pkwy., Suite #1, Marietta, GA  30067 or to the United Methodist Children's Home, 500 Columbia Dr., Decatur, GA  30030-9982.  A.
