Marvin Stewart Jr. was born on March 7, 1949, in Nashville, TN to Virginia Lee and Marvin Stewart Sr.
Marvin Stewart Jr. graduated from Meigs High School in 1967 and went on to Tennessee State University. He received a computer programming scholarship and was afforded the opportunity to move to Atlanta, Georgia where he held a long career in Information Technology. Marvin worked as a Program Analyst for Richway, Sprint, and Lockheed Martin before transitioning to Southwest Airlines where he retired after 13 years.
Marvin met his wife, Beryl, in what felt like a God-ordained encounter, and they were married in 1992. They welcomed their joyful daughter, Jessica, and shared a wonderful 32 years of love, adventure, and happiness, creating countless cherished memories along the way as a blended family.
Marvin was an honest and dignified man. His devotion to his family was evident, and he was kind to everyone he encountered. He was respected for his choice of words, traditional values, and unwavering faith. Marvin's devotion to God was also apparent, as he served in several positions at the Atlanta Belvedere Seventh-Day Adventist Church, including Assistant Treasurer, Interim Church Clerk, and Deacon.
Marvin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling to exciting places, bowling, celebrating holidays, fixing things (even if it meant using a piece of duct tape), cheering on the Atlanta Falcons, maintaining his lawn, and spending time in nature, bird watching.
Marvin passed away on September 3, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife, Beryl; four blessed daughters, Marsinah Stewart, Ashley Stewart, Joycelyn Stewart, Jessica Stewart (Ty), and his bonus daughter Simone Bradley (Ronnie); three grandsons, Donovan, Ethan and Caleb; sister, Beverly; and a host of extended family and loving friends.
