Mary Ann Griffin Hickmon

Mrs. Mary Ann Griffin Hickmon of Atlanta died Tuesday, April 12, 2005.  She was born in Birmingham, AL and spent most of her youth in Manchester, GA.  She was an elementary school teacher for 43 years in the Atlanta Public School system, teaching at S.M. Inman and Morningside Elementary. Mrs. Hickmon was a member of Clairmont Hills Baptist Church, the Dorcas Sunday School class and was a G. A. leader there for many years.  She is survived by her husband, James H. Hickmon of Atlanta; children David (and Sharon) Hickmon of Duluth, GA, Kathy (and Mark) Dando of Houston, TX, Nancy (and Mike) Tavares of Delafield, WI; grandchildren, Kent, Will and Ashley Hickmon, Lucie (and Jeff) Ausburn, Joe (and Deanna) Cozart, Mandie and Maggie Cozart, and Joseph and Kathryn Tavares.  Funeral services will be held at Clairmont Hills Baptist Church at 11:00 Friday, April 15th with Rev. Fred O. Pitts, Jr. and Rev. Larry Burgess officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Clairmont Hills Baptist Church Outreach Ministries.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
