Mary Anne Lyle

Mary Anne Lyle, 80, of Atlanta, died Friday, June 7, 2013 at Hospice Atlanta. Born Nov. 8, 1932 in Atlanta, Mary Anne was predeceased by her husband of 58 yrs. Drury L. Lyle. She was employed by the CDC in Atlanta for 43 years, working as an Epidemiologist for the center. She started her career working on eradicating Polio, Smallpox and later in her career on a special project on nutrition for the U.S. Congress, and also T.B. and finally AIDS. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and also was a avid Georgia Tech fan and contributor for over 60 yrs. She was thoughtful beyond a fault and very generous, loving and kind to her family and friends. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Jimmy and Toi Lyle of Atlanta; grandson, Jay Lyle; granddaughter, Jessica Lyle and great grandchildren, Blakeley and Walker. Graveside services will be held Monday,1:00 pm, June 10, 2013 at Crest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at A.S. Funeral Home in Decatur.
