Mary C. Kartos passed away on Monday April 3, 2017, at the age of 85. She grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and earned both a bachelors and master's degree from the University of Michigan. She moved to Atlanta in the late 1960's to work as a research and university librarian. She was known for her generosity, love of family, and work ethic.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John L. Kartos, and her parents, Nicholas and Helen Constant. She is survived by her daughter, Penny M. Paris and son-in-law, Harry Paris, granddaughters, Christina Paris and Constance Paris, brother, James Constant and sister-in-law, Argerey Constant, brother, Robert Constant and sister-in-law, Constance Constant, godson, John Pilavas, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 7, 2017, from 5:00-7:00 pm at A.S. Turner & Sons, Decatur, Georgia, with the Prayer Service starting at 6:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 1:00 pm at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, Atlanta, Georgia. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
The family is grateful for the dedication and support provided by her caregivers and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation Benevolence Fund.
