Mary Donnan (MD) Debranski, 40, died November 29, 2017, in Atlanta, Georgia, after a 6 ½ year battle with Ocular Melanoma. She is survived by her wife, Sarah Elizabeth Smith Debranski of Atlanta, Georgia, parents Dr. and Mrs. Michael J. Debranski of Suffolk, Virginia, and sister Megan Debranski Kelhart and her husband Matthew, of Alexandria, Virginia. She was the beloved aunt of nephew, Matteson Michael Donnan Kelhart.She is also survived by her uncle George Donnan Beamon (Kim) of Chesapeake, Virginia, her aunt Mary Sipple Beamon Mouden of Maumelle, Arkansas, and uncle Ronald Debranski (Kay) of Woodstock, Georgia, as well as many, much loved cousins. Mary Donnan was a 1995 Lakeland High School graduate and a 1999 graduate of Virginia Tech in Graphic Design. In her free time, Mary Donnan loved traveling the world, loving on her two puppies, running and CrossFit, attending Hokie football games, and playing with her nephew.There will be a Memorial Celebration of her life Saturday, January 13, 2018, 1:00 p.m. at R.W. Baker & Funeral Home and Crematory, Suffolk VA 23234.
Ocular Melanoma is a rare disease. Therefore funding for research to find a cure is very limited at this time.
