Mary Eleanor Mangum

Mary Eleanor Mangum, 86, of Atlanta, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2012. An amazing mother and grandmother, Eleanor was born in Savannah, Georgia to Hoyt and Roselie Meaders. Eleanor received her Bachelors Degree in education from the Georgia State College for Women and taught school in the City of Atlanta for many years. Eleanor was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband Whitey Mangum; grandson Christopher Mangum; and daughter-in-law Diane Mangum. She is survived by her two sons: Don and Stan Mangum; grandchildren: Brittany, Kyle, Rachel, and Kate Mangum. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday September 3 in the Chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons. Entombment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
