Mary Elizabeth Boyd

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth “Lib” Tillman Boyd, loving wife and mother, died Sunday night, October 24, 2010 after a period of declining health. She was born March 28, 1927 in Brundidge, Alabama, daughter of the late Coda A. Tillman and the late Ethel Jordan Robinson. After graduating from Reinhardt Academy in Waleska, Georgia, Lib received her RN degree from Crawford W. Long Hospital Nursing School in Atlanta. She had an interesting and varied nursing career. Lib was predeceased by her husband, Edward Dickey Boyd in 2003; and is survived by daughters, Julia Boyd Peterson and her husband Jeffery of Albany, GA, Betsy Boyd Gundorf and her husband Rick of Kenner, LA and Nancy Boyd Baarcke and her husband John of Union, SC; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow in Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Dr., Atlanta, GA 30319. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
