Mary Elizabeth Ruland

Mary Elizabeth (Breig) Ruland, 43, of Doraville, died late last month at Hospice Atlanta. She is survived by her husband, Royce, and daughter, Caroline Ruland. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on June 20, 1962, she was the daughter of Bernetta Breig of Moosic, PA and the late Charles Breig. She was a 1984 graduate of Bloomsburg University and a member of the Professional Nurses Association. Mrs. Ruland was formerly employed by Atlanta Nephrology Associates as a registered nurse. She retired five years ago when she had her daughter. Also surviving her in the greater Scranton area are: a brother, Charlie Breig; sisters, Charlotte Baron, Judy McHugh, and Sue Mielo; and mother, Bernetta Breig. A memorial service will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Redeemer Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 3930 Chamblee-Tucker Rd. in Doraville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kenneth E. Thomas Center for Nursing Excellence, St. Joseph's Mercy Foundation, 5673 Peachtree-Dunwoody Rd., Suite 650, Atlanta, GA 30342. A.
