Mary Elizabeth Wearing

Mary Elizabeth Culp Wearing (96) of Decatur Georgia, died Monday, September 25, 2023. She was born on July 13,1927 in Kansas City, Kansas to Kathleen and Leslie Culp. She attended Blessed Sacrament School and graduated from Bishop Ward Highschool in 1945 in Kansas City, KS.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, George Wearing in 2002, her sister Ellen Needham in 1996, her other brother John Culp in 2009, and her brother Floyd Culpin 2011.

She is survived by 4 daughters Ruth and John Watts of Peachtree City, Ga, Anne Wearing Tucker Ga. Barbara Wearing Austin, Tx, Jane Wearing of Atlanta Ga, 2 sons, Richard Wearing of Houston Tx, and Paul and Lisa Wearing of Sandy Springs. She has 6 grandchildren, Brian Watts, Jennifer Singleton (Barry), Stephanie Watts, Christine& Anthony Pridgen, Emma Wearing, Mary Anna Wearing. Also 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mary is a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church since 1958. She was sponsor in the RCIA Program for 21 years, also in the creative hands group.

There will a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on September 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Father Fred Wendel will be officiating. The family will be accepting friends and hour prior. The interment will be private.

In Lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
