Mrs. Mary Emmorette Merritt Youngblood, age 78, of Tucker, GA, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2006. She was born in Madison, GA, on February 2, 1927. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Chamblee (GA) and Johns Creek Baptist Church for more than 55 years. She was retired from Union Camp. She is survived by her three children-daughter, Kathy Nurnberger of Tucker, daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Dee Whitaker of McDonough, son, Alan Youngblood of Tucker--five grandchildren, Stanley Nurnberger and his wife Tiffany, Matthew Whitaker and his wife Amanda, Leslie Nurnberger, April Whitaker, and Evan Whitaker; step-father, Paul Hester of Augusta; brother, Walter Merritt and his wife Pauline of Overland Park, KS; niece, Paula Davis and her husband Dean; nephew, Tim Merritt and his wife Delena; two great nieces; one great nephew; cousins; and many family friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 9, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Dr. William Self and Rev. David White will officiate. Interment will be at Greensboro (GA) Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday evening at A. S. Turner & Sons.
