Mary Jane Kelly

November 25, 1917 — April 30, 2017

Born November 25, 1917, Mary Jane Kelly (Kramer) of Decatur, Georgia, formerly of Wheeling, WV and Pompton Plains, NJ passed away peacefully on April 30, 2017 with family by her side at the age of 99.

While living in New Jersey in the early 60's, Jane became a founding member of the Pequannock Valley Mental Health Center (currently NewBridge Services) where she served in many roles within the growing organization, including her service as Secretary and Treasurer on the Board of Directors. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains, where she helped establish and coordinate a "Coffee Hour" to ensure a forum for mingling of church members among the two services. Jane and husband Elmer retired to Jackson Lake, Georgia in 1986 where she became involved with the Service Guild of Covington and was honored as "Family of the Year" in 1998 for their volunteer work. The Kelly's moved to Decatur, Georgia in 2000 where Jane became an active member of the Senior Guild at Decatur First United Methodist Church.

Jane married Elmer Kelly in Wheeling, WV on March 27, 1937. They were married for 68 years until Elmer's death in 2003. She was extremely proud of the family she leaves behind; her children: Patrick and Jeffrey (Tina); grandchildren: Danner and Sean Patrick Kelly, Jodi (Lenny) Peters, Jenni (Kevin) Gaines; and great-grandchildren: Nicole (Taylor) Klein, Nick and Nate Peters, and Kori and Kasey Gaines.

In lieu of flowers, donations to NewBridge Services (1259 Route 46 East, Suite B, Parsippany, NJ 07054 attn: Development Office) or The Shepherd Center Foundation (2020 Peachtree Road, NW, ATL 30309) are greatly appreciated. A private gathering of family and friends is planned. We're sure that by now, Mom has met our Heavenly Father and given him a list to "straighten this place out!"
