He is predeceased by his wife, Kathleen O’Brien Almond, who passed away on September 27, 1999. A dedicated and loving father to Carolyn Barrett Almond and Ellen Courtney Almond, together he and Kathy took great pride in the family they raised together. More than anything, Andrew was a family man who adored his girls. As a lifelong Decatur resident, Andrew cultivated longtime friendships throughout the community. A natural athlete, Andrew spent his youth playing baseball and football. Growing up in the shadow of East Lake, Andrew showed great skill on the golf course. After graduating from Decatur High School in 1967, he attended the University of Georgia.
