Mary Lillie Young

Mary Lillie Young, 77 of Decatur departed this life, Wednesday, December 1, 2021. She was born September 16, 1944 to the late Alice Glenn Oliver and Major Oliver, Sr. She joined St. Paul Baptist Church in Anderson, SC. She worked at Colonial Funeral Home also in Anderson, SC. She was joined in marriage to the late James Robert Young.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Young. She is survived by son Lee Oliver, daughter Alice Cante, sons Terry Young (Barrett), and Larry Young (Jomori); brothers Charlie Oliver (Norma Jean), Jessie Oliver Sr. (Mary), Joe Michael Oliver (Janice), late L.C. Oliver (Catherine) and sisters Linda Dawson (Claudell), Sandra Owens (Charles) and late sister Joyce Williams (Don); four grandchildren, Tanishia Oliver, Sarita Nance (Joe), Toria Ownes and Zack Wilson and four great grandchildren.
She enjoyed cooking, plants, crossword puzzles, talking to her siblings and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 11:00 am in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
