Mary Lou Smith

Mary Lou Young Smith, 95 of Griffin GA passed away on Sunday May 16, 2021.

A native of Rex, GA, she started her career as an administrative assistant to the Dean of Students at Georgia Tech and retired with over 30 years of service. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, reading and writing poetry. She was a fabulous mother to twin daughters and took extra time to show her love to her special needs daughter, Kaye.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cotter Smith and her daughter, Brenda Kaye Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Faye Moore and Mary Lou's faithful companion and care giver for the last 12 years, Gail Tyson.

Graveside services for Mary Lou will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday May 20th at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Forest Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday May 19th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at A. S. Turner & Sons, Decatur, GA.
