Mary Louise Holloway, 86, passed away December 5th. Louise was born in Rome, GA and moved to Atlanta as a young girl. She attended Girls High School and Georgia State University. She was still active in her sorority, Delta Lambda. She was a member of the DeKalb Jaycets, serving as President in the 1950's. Long active in the Red Cross, she volunteered at DeKalb Medical Center for over 25 years. Louise was an avid bridge player, participating in bridge groups with her friends in both Avondale Estates and Tucker. Over the years, she was actively involved in both Columbia Presbyterian and Shallowford Presbyterian Churches. She enjoyed travel and spending time at her home on St Simons Island. She was predeceased by her husband, Gene, of 61 years. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa George and her husband Keith, grandson Christopher George and his wife Jessica, granddaughter Courtney George and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Thursday evening, December 8th from 5 – 7pm at Turner's in Decatur. A private family burial will be held.
