Mary McConkey Reimer of Decatur, formerly of Avondale Estates, died Tuesday, December 29, 2015 of complications from a stroke at the age of 90. Mary was born in Athens, TN on July 3, 1925, and lived in Chattanooga, TN and Dalton, GA before moving to Decatur to attend Agnes Scott College. She graduated in 1946 with a degree in Mathematics and Physics, and worked for Southern Bell until leaving to raise her family in 1953. As the mother of six, Mary volunteered with PTA, Boy/Girl Scouts, Little League baseball, and Booster clubs, among other organizations. Mary & husband Jack were avid sports fans, holding season tickets for Atlanta Falcons football for over 20 years, Georgia Tech basketball for over 30 years and Georgia Tech football for over 55 years.

She was active in the Agnes Scott Alumnae Association, serving as class fund chair for many years and earning the 1997 "Outstanding Alumna Award" for service to the college. Mary was one of 10 women recognized in 1988 as a "Woman Who Makes a Difference" by the DeKalb YWCA.

Mary was an active member of Oakhurst Presbyterian Church from 1946 until her passing, serving as President of the Women of the Church, Elder and as church treasurer from 1979-1999.
