Mrs. Mary Nell Green passed away peacefully on April 27, 2009. She is survived by E. Wesley Green, who was a loving and devoted husband of 63 years. Also surviving are two sisters, Helen Brannen of Athens and LeNora Dyar of Greensboro; and several nephews and nieces, one of whom is Beverly Tarleton who was her caregiver for the past several months. Mary Nell was a life long resident of Georgia. She earned a degree in Home Economics from the University of Georgia. She also took many graduate classes at the University. She taught in the Georgia School system for 30 years of which 25 were in the Atlanta Public School System. Funeral services will be held at Valley Brook Baptist Church at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 30th with Pastor Mike Roper officiating. The interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Valley Brook Baptist Church, Embracing Hospice, or Cruselle Freeman Church of the Deaf. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 29th at A. S. Turner & Sons.
