Mary (Pota) Alexander Janoulis passed away November 7, 2015, five days before her 96th birthday. Last surviving member of four siblings born to Greek immigrant parents, she was a lifelong member of the Daughters of Penelope and the Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She faithfully served the church and the community in various capacities. After attending Hoke Smith High School she continued her education at the Artistic Beauty Institute where she received a degree in cosmetology. She married James Nicholas Janoulis in 1939. She continued her career as a beautician until 1941 when she started her family.
She is survived by her son, Alexandron (Aleck) Janoulis; daughter, Themis (Teri) White; son-in-law, Chris White; granddaughter, Jaime Nicole White; and great granddaughter, Isabella Nicole.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 10th, at A.S. Turner & Sons, 2773 N. Decatur Rd. Decatur, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 11th, at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral followed by a burial at Arlington Cemetery.
